Welcome to the 117th edition of the Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races. We are happy to be returning to our historic 2-mile and 6-mile course in 2023 after running a modified route in 2022.
About the Race:
The Dartmouth Natal Day Road Race was first held been held in 1907, making it one of the oldest races in North America. It consists of 2-mile and 6-mile events, run on a 2-mile course through historic downtown Dartmouth. The course starts and finishes in front of the 250-year old Christ Church on Ochterloney Street and is followed by a reception and awards presentation. Race start time is 8:15 AM for both the 2-mile and 6-mile events. Chip timing and race statistics are provided by Atlantic Chip Timing.
The event attracts many of the top elite runners from around the province, but it is organized as a family-oriented race with lots of multi-generational participants. In 2022 the event attracted more than 800 people. The Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races are priced to make the event as accessible as possible for participants.
Both the 6-mile and 2-mile races have been selected for the 2023 Run Nova Scotia Road Race Series. The 6-miler is also included in the 2023 Run Nova Scotia Performance Series and is expected to attract a competitive field of many of Nova Scotia's fastest runners.
