Natal Day is Approaching!

Natal Day Poster 2010

Yes, it’s hard to believe, but race day is only little more than a month away! Although our numbers remain consistent at approximately 800 runners per year, the East Coast tendency to leave things to the last minute always has us lying awake at night worrying whether people will come out. As of today, we have 75 people registered online. We know know you will come, you always do, but please take our nerves into consideration- we race director’s need our sleep!

That being said, in our efforts to make registration as accessable as possible we will be offering walk – in registration again this year at Christ Church Hall on Ochteronley Street from 3- 6pm on Sunday August 1, and from 6:30 -7:30 on race day.

More breaking race news:

Mayor Peter Kelly has promised to run our race! We are very happy to announce that Peter Kelly has answered the challenge of race director, Ray Williams,  and confirmed that he will be running with us on Natal Day.  Last year, Mayor Kelly came out and lent his support as a spectator. When asked by our race director if he would consider running in 2010, he responded that he would have to wait and see how his experience in the Bluenose went. We assume it must have gone well (the running gods bestowed upon him the only sunny Blue Nose race to date) as we received official word last week that he will indeed be joining us, and has set a goal of breaking one hour in the six miler .

Thank you Mayor Kelly for leading by example and making time for fitness in your busy life. See you in August!
