COVID-19 Update: Fast Company Running Club has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Dartmouth Natal Day Road Race. With upwards of 2000 participants, volunteers, and spectators in a confined area, we feel the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic would pose too much of a health risk to proceed with our event. We are hopeful that by next summer life with be back to normal and the Dartmouth Natal Day Road Race will make a triumphant return on August 2, 2021. Thank you for your understanding and support and we look forward to seeing you on our start line in 2021.
The Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races have been held in Dartmouth continuously since 1907, making it one of the oldest races in North America. It consists of 2-mile and 6-mile events, run on a 2-mile course through historic downtown Dartmouth. The course starts and finishes in front of the 250-year old Christ Church on Ochterloney Street and is followed by a reception and awards presentation.
The event attracts many of the top elite runners from around the province, but it is organized as a family-oriented race with lots of multi-generational participants doing the race together. The race is priced to make it affordable to all participants.
Many people the Dartmouth Natal Day Road Races part of their annual Natal Day weekend, either as participants or spectators. The annual Natal Day Parade goes past the start-finish area shortly after the end of the race and there are lots of other activities going on in Dartmouth throughout the day.
The race has been organized by Fast Company Running Club for more than 25 years, with the support of a dedicated group of volunteers and the Natal Day Festival Committee.
